Wednesday 9/6 - time for Inspection. Going to Class. Prologue ride.

Wednesday 9/6 - Thursday 9/7
Virginia Beach, VA

After going to bed at 1 AM last night, Chris and Jonas were up at dawn to keep working. These guys worked their a**es off nonstop that morning assembling, tweaking, and retesting. And they were successful - We made it to inspection on time, passing with no major issues. We were finally able to enjoy some down time while all of the teams’ motorcycles were lined up to be looked at.

On Thursday all of the riders went through a class in the morning. While Jonas and Brenda were in rider school, Chris continued to tweak the bike. During that testing we discovered that the fuel filter was VERY dirty and clogged. This is probably all rusty crud that has come out of the fuel tank. Luckily we had a couple spares with us.

That afternoon we all went to the Virginia Beach fishing pier for the Official Cannonball start. After leaving the pier the riders did a short “Prologue” ride in the Virginia Beach area. Once again, Renata ran better and better all the time.

The previous couple days were a whirlwind. After working through all of these problems we were still not able to kick start, but the bike was running better than ever once we got it going. We were feeling very optimistic for the first stage of the race to start tomorrow.
