Opening The Crate

May 29, 2022 - Sure, I had a busy weekend planned, but I had waited too long for this. The crate sat in our warehouse for one day. My good buddy, Dave, came out to spend Sunday morning helping me open and unpack the Sport 14 from the crate.

[Note, pay no attention to the beautiful wooden caskets in the background here. This is the warehouse location of our businesses, the Northwoods Casket Company, and Casket Builder Supply. We assure you those beautiful boxes are empty.]

One large crate containing a vintage motorcycle with sidecar

This large crate has finally arrived from Verona, Italy.

Upon first opening the crate, everything looked good. There was a little paint worn off the frame of the sidecar and the fuel line had become detached at a solder joint on the fitting to the carburetor. No big deal, this was a beautiful motorcycle indeed!

The very much awaited moment has arrived!

And here it is! A 1928 Moto Guzzi Sport 14 with a sidecar. Appears it was restored in the 1990s.
